Jezus Overwinnaar

I first met worship leader Kees Kraayenoord through a friend Chris Eaton and colleague Stephen Doherty. This led to Kees recording the Speak the Wordsalbum for Kingsway Music before Kees and I initially worked on a studio project called Running into Love. I first met worship leader Kees Kraayenoord through a friend Chris Eaton and colleague Stephen Doherty. This led to Kees recording the Speak the Words album for Kingsway Music before Kees and I initially worked on a studio project called Running into Love. We recorded this in English and Dutch (Uw Liefde Tegenmoet) Kees and his wife Nicole, eventually were part of planting the Mozaiek Church in Veenendaal. After several visits to Holland we decided to record a live album at Mozaiek with Kees. The church building has 2 recording studios and is an excellent facility. We loved hearing the songs sung in Dutch. This album was Feest van Genade, our first live album in Dutch! Darlene Zschech’s song Viktor’s Crown had become an anthem of the Dutch Church. This inspired Kees, Reyer and Eline Bakker to write Jezus Overwinnaar and what a contemporary hymn from Holland this has become! 

We recorded the Jezus Overwinnaar album late spring 2019 in Veenandaal. Produced by Rob Buis, recorded by Jan Pronk and mixed by Reyer, mastered by Drew Lavyne. So great to hear Kees and the Mozaiek team finding their voice and sound. The album includes memorable spontaneous moments, creative arrangement and outstanding drumming from Jeroen van Santen. Other key songs are Onze Schuilplaats, Verwondert & Ubent Sterker. Jezus Overwinnaar has been translated into English and is called Jesus Victorious. This was featured on the Spring Harvest 2019 live album. Please look out for the German Version!
